Kathleen has over 8 years experience as a psychotherapist, and is a graduate of University of Maryland School of Social Work specializing in mental health therapy. Previously, Kathleen was with the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute, counseling patients working to get listed and to receive organ transplants and with the Montgomery County Department of Social Services.
Among her areas of expertise are trauma and post-traumatic stress resulting from stressors such as abuse, human trafficking, natural disasters, terrorism and other acts of violence such as rape and professions requiring exposure to danger, such as military, police, firefighters and journalists who cover war and other violent events.
